Let me start this testimonial with a disclaimer – Patty did not ask me to write this! I asked her if she would let me write something to share with future clients. I hope that helps you read this knowing it’s not a paid endorsement but wanting to give accolades to someone who has helped me make significant changes in my life!

A little about me – I’m a 52 year old woman with a family including a husband and just recently left to college son (let the empty nest stage begin!) I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I love cardio exercise of all kinds but really struggle with strength training. I’ve tried every on-line program in an attempt to be consistent, but nothing would work.

I was reading a post in Next Door asking if anyone was interested in a neighborhood running group. Why not – I said -it could reenergize my waning interest in running. In comes the Patty part of the story! Patty had organized the group and told us her story. This is when I found out she also does health and wellness training. I asked if we could meet to discuss my goals and if she might be a good resource.

Let me cover what my list of “hopes” were and see if they resonate with you. Here comes the list:

  • My goals were pretty clear – I didn’t want to be a body builder – I just wanted to improve my entire body….no problem right??!?!  Ok…in actuality – I was starting to notice that I was losing strength, flexibility and mobility. I do not want to be a burden to my family as I get older.  Patti was upfront that what I want to accomplish is not an “easy – quick fix” solution.  It will take time and consistency.  I wasn’t in horrible shape but the downhill can become a slippery slide that I was gaining speed.
  • I’ve got knee, ankle and hand problems.  I had taken some tumbles and lost mobility in ankles and my right hand.  Could she help with this.  Short answer – yes!
  • I have NO hand strength and am sick of asking my husband/son to open things for me – can she help with that.  Short answer again – yep!
  • I have a pretty unhealthy relationship with food.  I wasn’t sure if I wanted to work on this or not but wanted to add this to the list.
  • I needed help finding a work out routine that would work for me and didn’t depend on going to the gym for hours.

We went through the list and agreed that what I was trying to accomplish was possible.

 

Here is where I am today – six months into coaching by Patty:

  • Day 1 of coaching – there was not a hint of a plank in my world.  Today – I can side plank, bosu plank, balance on three points plank for longer than I ever thought possible!
  • Ankle flexibility – so much better!!
  • Balance – so much better!!  My husband could count on a quarterly call with the dreaded “I’ve fallen…and need stitches” call pre – Patty.  Not a single fall since focusing on balance and flexibility!
  • Consistency – I’m spoiled – I have Patty come twice a week and it’s been a game changer on my consistency and strength gain!  It’s worth every cent to have the white glove service of her coming to my house!
  • Hand Strength – I can actually open jars on my own!!  I know this sounds a little pitiful – but I love not asking my husband to do it for me!
  • My list could go on and on…push ups – no longer doing the knee thing and moving to a big girl push up!  Chest press – rocking it with good form.  Will I ever have a sexy back…not sure…but is my posture a 1000’s times better – yes indeed!
  • Overall daily soreness from not moving enough – GONE!!

In addition to the above, she has made me see so many positive things in my changing attitude about food. We meet once a week for nutrition coaching and are finding what will work for me. She doesn’t try to force a one plan for all approach. Again – she meets you were you are and helps you make the changes you want. Patty will NEVER judge you! She is one of the best support systems in my world.
